The Heartland MG Regional was established in 1990 in Topeka, KS at the Heartland Park Raceway by members of the Kansas City MG Car Club and the Midwest MGA Club ( with some additional help from the Topeka T's ). It was set to complement the SVRA races held in June. The show moved in 1993 to Independence, MO, home of Harry S. Truman, on the Historic Independence Square. After several years in Independence, the show venue changed to St. Joseph, Missouri, the birthplace of the pony express. In 2006 the show moved to Kansas City, Kansas and is now held in Overland Park, Kansas. The Heartland MG Regional invites a guest manqué to attend the show. This year the invited marque is the Kansas City Triumph Sports Car Club. The Heartland MG Regional selects a charity each year to offer some support. SafeHome will receive our charitable contribution in 2008 which will consist of the precedes of the silent auction, donations from our guest manqué, and any profit we make from the show. |
